[green thumb]

This post is going to have a HUGE amount of pictures... lol like, A TON!!

My perspective on gardening has changed completely within this past spring/summer. Ever since I started getting my allergy shots, I have been able to enjoy the outdoors. I love it. I love everything that's green. I love the flowers, I love the trees, I love garden plants.. I love it all.

I have to thank my Dad for allowing me to help him garden (and break the fence with the lawn mower!!!) because this has changed me. Just helping him plant some melon seeds, building a trellis, planting flowers, and shoveling dirt is SO enjoyable when you can sit back and enjoy it.

Over the weekend, David bought me some stuff so I can have my own garden on our balcony. We already had some lettuce, CRAZY tomatoes that are almost as tall as me, pepper plants and green bean plants! I have a bunch of pictures to show you, including my NEW garden!! YAY! (A BIG THANKS TO MY BOYFRIEND DAVID FOR DOING THIS FOR ME!!)

Ozwald watching me garden

This is my new garden! I have cucumbers (i know i dont have room but it's still fun!) green beans, sugar snap peas and green onions!

This is me gardening in my new garden hehe

That's the hypomel poking out of the egg!!

This is 2 of the 5 baby chinchillas born!! One even escaped and we found it behind the cage thank the lord! It would have died otherwise!!!
So there are 5 total and they are all as cute as can BE!

[the question]

I read a really great story called, "The Yellow Wallpaper." This specific short story really hit home on the reason as to why I chose psychology as a major and why I am so hellbent on studying psychopathology and psychosis. If anyone has 30 minutes to spare, I urge you to read this phenomenal story. You won't look at yellow wallpaper ever again!

In other news, I am quite tired. I have exhausted myself beyond repair at this point. Each morning I feel more restless than when I went to bed. Some nights I pass out because I am so tired.

Working on Dr. Carters stuff, working on my own homework, working on the group project, cleaning the house, taking care of animals -- ugh, it's all so much right now and I feel like exploding.

I think I freaked David out a little bit last week. Have you ever felt like jumping off of a bridge you are on, just to feel yourself falling? I was feeling a little depressed and told him that that's what I dreamt of the night before. I dreamt of falling and I felt so free in my dream. I think he interpreted it as me wanting to jump into traffic, but I interpreted it as me wanting to go sky diving -- to feel fear and excitement at the same time. The ultimate roller coaster. I at least need to try that indoor sky diving at the Schlitterbahn lol

David and I have had a little bit of trouble lately figuring out ways to keep us from being depressed and bored. I have been feeling more and more depressed the last few weeks but I think the stress of everything isn't really helping the situation. He is a little invested in evolution -- disregarding Intelligent Design has been his main focus for a while and I think it's kind of making him question what life is even all about. If we weren't created by some divine god what is the reason why we are here? Why do we live this life, only in the end to perish? I'm starting to get sucked into this mess and it's scaring me to realize that we all don't know where we are going when we are gone.... we are just... gone.

[mom]

I went and picked up my mother from the airport on 5-18-09. She just got back from Korea and I was so happy to be there to get her :). She was so exhausted but I was so HAPPY to see her. My dad text'ed me the entire time telling me when her flight was approaching and we all timed it PERFECTLY! I parked, waited 10 minutes, her luggage was the FIRST out of the gate and we got in the car! We didn't pay for parking because we were there for less than 30 minutes! Great team work Dad!! woohoo!

So, while David and I waited at home before we left for the airport we took some pictures that I thought I would share :)Dad's Retirement Plan! Asian Pear Trees!

David being silly

Me being silly! I even said, okay this time lets take a serious one haha

[busy]

Finals are over. I can't express how happy I am now that the spring semester is over. Now, I have summer school.

So for some reason I have decided to make my life a living hell for the next 6 weeks. I'm taking summer school. In a normal semester, you take 12 credit hours in 16 weeks. I am taking 9 credit hours in 6 weeks. That is cramming 16 weeks of information in 6 weeks.

On top of that, my Psychology professor has asked me to lead a research team on how positive thinking can impact your test scores. The IRB was due on Wednesday but he told us on Thursday. Now we have until Monday to make the IRB, the daily positive thinking packet, the literature review etc... Talk about a busy weekend.

ON TOP of that, I am assisting that same professor in his Learning class, taking notes and helping him create new tests for his class; possibly helping him create study guides for the tests etc.

I am going to be a busy girl.

NOW, for some pictures.
This is my dad's ridiculous mustache and goatee. As you can see, a mustache is not supposed to exceed the line of the goatee.

This is the NEW mustache and goatee a few days later. FIXED lol When he showed me I almost pee'd my pants!

And this is us online last night on Skype lOl We are dorks

[weekends]

Usually, as sad as it is, I normally come home and spend the entire weekend with my mom, running around and doing errands with her. So, to make sure my Dad knows how much I love and appreciate him and everything he does for me, I came home to spend some time with him! I had a really good weekend!

Friday I got home around 9 and we ate a flavorwave chicken with steamed veggies YUM! He failed to flip the chicken and so it took a bit longer than usualy but it was DELISH none the less! He even bought a chocolate cheese cake! Then, we marinaded meat to make beef jerky!

Saturday Dad, Jim and I all went out to Larry's Greenhouse to get some flowers. We picked up some marigolds, a bee balm, some asters, gazonias, cosmos, cucumbers and some other flowers that look so pretty! We spent the afternoon planting them and waiting for our beef jerky to dry. (it took all of 15 hours or so!) We then got a pizza and we baked that and watched Employee of the Month.

Then, I spent most of my free time at home crocheting a blanket. I'm doing a tricolor blanket for my parent's living room. I picked out the PERFECT colors to match. I want to get the afgahn done before my mom gets back from Korea. :) I miss her a lot.

We woke up to find some rabbits had chewed up our freshly planted marigolds. DARN YOU RABBITS!

----

As of today, I have 3 finals left. I spent the (literally) last 14 hours working on a take home Research Design and Analysis final for my psychology class. Psychology stats are horrible, but pretty easy if you know what you're doing. It took me so long because I was double checking, doing problems twice, searching through my notes... etc... I am glad I didn't put it off until tomorrow because I would have never gotten done. Tomorrow, I am going to the library to check my answers on SPSS to make sure I computed all of the problems correctly. BLAH -- what a boring day.

Wednesday I have an Anthropology final, Thursday I have a learning final and Friday I have a music final a 8am.. HORRIBLE. BUT -- then the semester is over...

only to start 6 more weeks of school because I am in summer school. WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?
